John 11:7 (ESV) Then after this he said to the disciples, “Let us go to Judea again.”
Just as the pangs of labor precedes the joy of holding a newborn, just as a long exhausting climb precedes experiencing the wind in your face as you relish the majestic breath-taking panoramic view from the top of a mountain, so it seems that most often the joys and blessings of the Lord are preceded by a long and often arduous process.
It is the way of life.
Most often, the cry comes before laughter and the climb before the view.
The question is: Are you willing to trust God with the process?
The fact that God asks the hard things from you is because he loves you.
The fact that God doesn’t rush to your side at the first cry is not because he can’t but because he must not, for to cut the process short would be to destroy the joyful harvest that lies ahead.
Have faith dear friend. Through our Lord will not be hurried by the panic of the moment, he will come through. The fullness of time will come for you, the striking of the hour of God’s deliverance will arrive and you will indeed step out of the darkness and into the light.
- The ONE THING for today: Today is a part of the process of God’s plan for your life. It may require patient endurance, but be assured that God’s timing is perfect. Trust Him and do not lose heart; the best is yet to come.
Romans 15:4 (ESV)
4 For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.
