Genesis 1:2 (NKJV) The earth was without form, and void… And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
The other day my wife asked me what type of gifts I liked. The first thing that came to mind was “intentional gifts”
There is no particular gift I want.
God has been so good to me; for the most part if I want something I can get it, but to have someone make the effort to be intentional about the gift they give me–that means more to me than what it is or what it cost.
Bottom line: being intention and doing things on purpose are the buzz words of my life.
And though you and I both don’t always live up to these buzz words I suspect you feel the same as I do.
That is why “without form and void” are such troublesome words for us…but not for God.
When all we can see is hopeless confusion and disorder, God sees the potential to create skies and earth, oceans and continents, and birds and animals.
When all we can see is a black hole of nothingness and hopelessness, God see the potential to create a world teeming with life and possibility.
When all our hopes and dreams have become void and empty—turned to dust and ashes, God sees the possibility of scooping up that dust and shaping a destiny and breathing life into it.
- The ONE THING for today: When going through those unfulfilling seasons don’t forget that God is hovering over your life and He sees potential in the most impossible and hopeless situation.
Galatians 6:9 (NKJV)
And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.
