John 10:17-18 (NKJV)
17 I lay down My life that I may take it again.
18 No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This command I have received from My Father.”
It is comforting to me know that Jesus is always in control.
Appearances can be deceiving.
A casual reading of the Gospels would give the impression that the Jewish and Roman leaders were in control but the truth was they were just tools in God’s hand to fulfill a plan that had been established before the foundations of the world were laid.
As I write this our nation and the world is in turmoil and the future is uncertain. In my own life and family there has been radical change and upheaval over the last twelve months.
If you and I didn’t know better there would be many reasons to despair, but we do know better or more importantly, we know Jesus and no matter how things appear, He is still in control and we know that He loves us and that He will work all things together for our good.
- The ONE THING for today: Keep your focus on Jesus, not the waves.
“A man can’t be always defending the truth; there must be a time to feed on it.” _C.S. Lewis
David, I am so glad that God is in control! I have to keep reminding myself of that very fact quite often.
