Psalm 86:15 (NKJV)
But You, O Lord, are a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering and abundant in mercy and truth.
We live in a “it’s-got-to-be-done-yesterday” world. Overnight shipping and instant messaging are normal parts of our lives. People expect to push a button and things get resolved–quickly and easily.
But remember, God will not be forced into this world’s mold.
There are a numerous words used in the Bible to describe God but the word, “impatient” is not one of them. On the other hand, one that is often used of Him is “long-suffering.”
My dear friend, be patient with those who trouble you, worry you and vex you. Someone can be a Christian and still have a lot of “Egypt” in them.
I know living in this sin cursed world can be tough; but be patient. God is not slack or on vacation, he is simply extending him mercy and grace for yet one more day to give people another chance to be saved.
My fellow “imperfect” person – be of good cheer, God is not finished with us yet either!
- The ONE THING for today: When it comes to those people who worry and trouble you, If you will be long on suffering, God will be short on giving you strength and grace to endure till victory comes.
2 Peter 3:9 (NKJV)
The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.
