“The test of whether you are in the will of God is not how rosy your circumstances are, but whether you are obeying Him.” _Paul Little, Classic Sermons on The Will of God
Over the years I have often been guided by a little word of advice my dad gave me. He said, “Son, always remember, you never go wrong doing right.”
I have found that advice to be dependably true.
However, I have also learned that just because I am doing right does not mean everyone will stand up an applaud. I have discovered that doing right (obeying God) requires me to often go against the tide of popular opinion and rowing upstream can be tough!
Perhaps that is where you find yourself right now. With all your heart you want to please and obey God but it is costing you. My dear friend, don’t give up or give in! It may take awhile and it may not be easy, but in the long run you will not regret being faithful and true to God.
The ONE THING for today: In the long run, you will never go wrong doing right.
The words of Paul to the Galatians still stands:
For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. 9 And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith. (Galatians 6:8-10)
