Psalm 61:8 (NKJV) So I will sing praise to Your name forever, that I may daily perform my vows.
Remember, you will not “win the victory” over many things until you finally get to heaven.
There are some choices you are going to have to make over and over and over—till death do you part.
You’re not a bad person if you’re tempted; what you must do each time you’re tempted is choose (yet again) to resist that temptation.
You’re not a good person because you choose one morning to read your bible for three solid hours and then to pray for another three hours so that you can skip your devotional time for the next week. Remember, you don’t “get ahead” or “get caught up” with your devotional life.
Investing in your relationship with God is a daily choice.
Bottom line, the moral undertow of living in a sin-cursed world will never go away in this life, sanity (and peace) comes by lowering your expectations for “winning the victory” to winning the victory one wise choice at a time for the rest of your life.
- The ONE THING for today: The wise choices you made yesterday don’t count today; make wise choices today.
Proverbs 8:34 (NKJV)
34 Blessed is the man who listens to me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.
