Claw your way back

This blog is probably not for you.

Occasionally, as I am preparing my daily blog, I get a sense that God has a word for someone in particular.  Maybe it is just one person or a limited few but I just know that I know that God has a special word for a special person(s) and today is one of those days.

The word for someone today is: “Claw your way back.”

Pretty much everyone has their fair share of stress, stain, and stuff to deal with, but that is not what this blog is about.  This blog is for those that hit bottom and then busted on through and redefined what “hitting bottom” means.

This blog is for those that have messed up royally and your life is a wreak and getting worse by the day.

This blog is for those that have failed so bad and so often that when you look up “fail” in the dictionary your picture is there.

But what you are to do, starting today, is claw your way back.

Claw your way back to respectability.

Claw your way back to health and sanity.

Claw your way back to home.

Claw your way back to God.

Will it be easy?  No, that’s why you have to claw your way back—painful inch by inch.

Will you be making progress?  No, you will only be getting back to where you first ran off the rails; but the good news is when you get back then you can start moving forward again.

Is clawing your way back really possible?  Have you blown it too badly?  Have you move beyond hope, recovery, and redemption?

No, absolutely not!

That’s why God moved upon my heart to write to you.  Pick yourself up; make the decision; and then, one wise decision at a time, for as long as it takes, and no matter the pain, shame, and resistances…claw your way back.

Oh, and you may be wondering, will you have to do this on your own?  No, absolutely not!  Jesus stands ready to help you; you will not have to do this alone.

  • The ONE THING for today: Choose today to begin clawing your way back…by God’s grace.

This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief.

1 Timothy 1:15 (NKJV)

  1. I can bear witness to the truth of the MIGHTY GRACE of God on failing God and others many years ago. As Moses misunderstood God’s instructions and missed God’s perfect timing. I too misunderstood God’s instructions to me, and I am learning to allow Him to move me in His perfect timing and ask Him for His wisdom to always fill me. It has been almost 40 years since I committed the sin of going ahead of God without understanding or even listening for His wise instructions, and I am now being used by Him in wonder filled ways to His praise and glory. Thank you for this blog. (Why don’t you apply for the Sr Pastor’s position at FMCOG). We all miss y’all so much, but we also agree with God’s perfect will and love you and Sonja so much.
