This may seem a little counterintuitive, but when making a decision with/for someone remember that the facts may not matter that much.
What will matter more are the emotions swirling around the decision to be made.
Experience has show that most people seldom let the facts stop them from making decisions they want to make. For example, how many times have you witnessed two teenagers “in love” or a in-his-late-50’s man about to buy a costly sports car conveniently ignored or forget the facts in the heat of the moment.
This happens more than we realize. How you feel can trump the facts on any day. The mood of the moment can impact the outcome of eternity.
Facts matter, but like fine dining, presentation is everything.
- The ONE THING for today: Before pulling the trigger on making a decision, don’t just consider the facts, considering the feelings of those involved.
He who blesses his friend with a loud voice, rising early in the morning, it will be counted a curse to him.
Proverbs 27:14 (NKJV)
Thank You for this today I had to make one of those decisions yesterday.
