Only an infinite mind has the right to never change their opinion (God). For the rest of us finite beings humility is required.
“This is my opinion and I’m sticking to it” is never the answer. The correct answer is, “This is my opinion and I’m sticking to it until I learn different.”
People that will not change their opinions become rigid and brittle and eventually break under the weight of truth.
On the other hand, don’t be too quick to form an opinion at all; most stuff doesn’t matter enough to have an opinion about.
For example, things like whether or not someone looks good in a certain outfit or whether one restaurant has a better burger than another really doesn’t matter; don’t take the bait and waste your time and energy in forming an opinion about something that doesn’t matter a hill of beans.
- The ONE THING for today: Opinions are overrated. Be slow to form one and be quick to change one when confronted with the truth.
16 Therefore, change your hearts and stop being stubborn.
