- Genesis 4:7 (NKJV) “…sin lies at the door. And its desire is for you, but you should rule over it.”
Today’s verse of the day is a warning from none other than God himself; I suggest we take it seriously.
What are the “doors” in our lives?
A good place to start is with our five senses.
Whether it is the alluring smell, the tempting taste, the smooth touch, the titillating sight, or the seductive sound—sin is lying at each of these doors.
And get this: Sin doesn’t want to make you happy or satisfied or better; sin (Satan) wants you—sin wants to capture you, rule you, consume you, and destroy you.
Don’t be deceived by the temporary satisfaction sin may bring; the price you will pay will never compensate for what you lose.
With God’s help, you must rule of it–guard the doors of your life diligently.
James 1:15 (NKJV)
15 Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death.
