- Genesis 1:26 (NKJV) Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion…” (Read Genesis 1:26-31 for the full story)
God made you to have dominion. There are special places and areas of responsibility that require your touch. If you do not take things in hand “briars and thistles” will rule.
I remind you today: there are areas of responsibility that you must take responsibility for. Whether it is a kitchen or a kingdom, let’s go ahead and say it: you must “dominate” there.
I know, dominate sounds so barbarian. Maybe this will help…
- Having dominion means you are responsible. You are the go-to guy. It means you are the expert, the best person (maybe the only person) for the job.
And here’s another safe-guard. Notice God said, “Let them have dominion”. Never seek domination that is not given. This means you are representing someone else. It means you will give an account.
Remember, the dominion God gives you is not to subjugate and enslave but to enrich and release. Under your watch things should work optimally. Under your care the people you are responsible for should flourish. When it is your time to man the post, God should be glorified.
Yeah, dominion is a tricky thing; but it is far better than living in chaos and anarchy.
So step up; in those areas given to you, its time to dominate.
