- Matthew 25:40 (NKJV) And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’
I recently read a moving story recorded by seminary professor and theologian Dr. Theodore Ferris about a ministry trip he made to Africa. It really touched me and I think it will you as well.
Dr. Ferris shared how he remembered watching a missionary dressing the wounds of a leper. The wounds were revolting, gruesome, and repulsive. As he watched her, he said, “I wouldn’t do that for ten thousand dollars.” She looked up at him, and said, “I wouldn’t either.”
There are some things you will not do for money but you will do for Jesus. It is those things that will take you places you never thought you’d go and cause you to do things you never thought you’d do and bring rewards you never dreamed of.
Remember, it wasn’t nails that held Jesus to the cross–it was love; love for His Father and the lost and unredeemed sinners his Father loved.
Nothing has changed. It will be your love for Jesus Christ and the people He loves that will make all the difference in this day and in every day.
