- Jeremiah 31:3 (NKJV) The Lord has appeared of old to me, saying:“Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love.”
Last night I broke Annie’s heart.
Annie is my youngest granddaughter and we are tight. I see her most days and we have become real “buds”.
However, I do have four other grandchildren and the full cadre was over last night for our weekly family meal. I had a little project I wanted to do with the two oldest grands outside and so I tried to slip them out “under the radar.” No go—Annie’s radar was working full-time and caught us. It broke her heart when I closed the door and didn’t let her come with me; it took she a long time to get over that betrayal (and me also).
But here’s the deal—the fact that I did not include Annie in the activity I had with the older two changed nothing whatsoever about my deep love and affection for Annie; it was just as strong and committed while I was outside with the other two as it was earlier in the day when it was just the two of us together.

I wonder how many times this happens in life with all of us.
Perhaps it’s not personal when you’re not included in something. I know this is especially true with God.
Do you feel like God’s shut the door in your face? Do you feel like God is doing great things and going great places with others and has left you out of the loop?
Trust me, nothing has changed about how God loves and cares for you.
I am speaking from experience—papa knows. 🙂
Beautiful grandchildren.!! Mine although most are adults are such a blessing.
