The ONE THING for today

Drifting into an alligator’s mouth

  • Hebrews 2:1 (NKJV) Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away.

It’s easier to destroy a good friendship than to improve it.

It’s easier to destroy a good marriage than change it for the better.

It’s easier to spend money than save money.

It’s easier to eat cookies than exercise.

It’s easier to do nothing than take intentional steps to grow.

Remember, the path of least resistance is always downward. If you’re not paddling you’re drifting downstream. If you’re not paddling hard you’re probably only sightseeing (and many people confuse sightseeing with actually taking a meaningful journey). Positive change and growth always require intentionality and hard work.

Don’t be surprise when you run aground if you put your life on auto-pilot. Don’t be surprise if you put your paddles in the bottom of the boat when you drift into the alligator’s mouth.Alligator_1

The ONE THING for today: Do something intentionally constructive about the things that matter to you, and don’t be surprise if it is hard to do; drifting into an alligator’s mouth is always easier.
