- Genesis 3:1-3 (NKJV) Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?” 2 And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; 3 but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.’”
It’s the same three words, but there is a world of difference between the question, “Is God good?” and the statement, “God is good.”
The moment you question the goodness of God you’re in trouble.
Immediately you must prayerfully go to the Word of God and search until you find the answer that relieves your mind about the goodness of God.
Left alone, your question about the goodness of God will lead to distrust of God. This will then lead to distancing yourself from God, which will ultimately alienate you from God–cutting yourself off from the very source of all hope, help, and…yes, goodness.
The ONE THING for today: Keep the “is” in the right place.
