My last Sunday nap (for this year)

  • Luke 1:33 (NKJV) …and of His kingdom there will be no end.

The last Sunday of the year—at least for a preacher who lives basically from Sunday to Sunday—has such a sense of finality about it.

This Sunday was no exception.  I was a little sad as Lucy (my soon to be seventeen year old cat) and I settled in for our last Sunday nap for the year.  Then I remembered…

…next year is coming and with it the first Sunday of the year.

I smiled a bit as I snuggled deeper into my “You will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on Thee” (Isaiah 26:3) quilt and thought—with every ending there is also a new beginning.

Life is good…

          Sunday’s coming…

and we’ll celebrate the resurrection one more time!
