Better be Careful with those Amens

At a recent staff meeting Pastor Larry Nivens made the statement that he hoped we’d have days in which our prayers did not have any amens. That got my attention!

Seems that the day that Larry made that statement that earlier in the day when he was concluding his morning devotions as he said, “Amen” to his prayer he sensed the prompting of the Holy Spirit tugging at his heart. The Holy Spirit reminded him that just because he was finished did not mean that God was finished.

A good point…a profound point, and one worth never forgetting. We’d better be careful with throwing around those “Amens” // we may miss the best that God had planned for us.
