(Written Monday, August 26, 2013 around 9:00 p.m.)
Well, I’m wrapping up this day…it’s been a bit hectic—for a pastor the day after Sunday usually is. However, today seems to have had an extra dose of the unexpected and unaccounted for.
No problem, I’m at peace this evening. Why? Because before tackling any of the challenges and tasks of the day, I first spent time with my Lord: Jesus Christ. I spoke to Him and I listened to Him. I reflected on Him as I read and studied His Holy Scriptures and the writings of holy men that had devoted themselves to learning about Him and teaching others.
Yes, I’m at peace because I did not forget the most important thing nor allow anything to replace the most important thing—or maybe I should Person.
Oh if people could only understand this. If only people would truly believe that making Jesus the passionate and paramount pursuit of their life would truly and fully satisfy them and make the rest of their lives truly and fully satisfying.
Dear Jesus, should you allow me to live—I devote the rest of my life to pointing people to this central truth…and should you call me home before the dawn—I rejoice in knowing that I shall finally see your face.
Thank you, Pastor Kemp, for your blog below. It tied in with the verse that I sent out today: “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.” Isaiah 26:3 NIV
May we walk through the day in the cloud of His peace – like a protective bubble. 🙂
Blessings, Claudia
