The ONE THING for today

Don’t be surprised when people…

  • Romans 12:18 (NKJV) If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.

It is helpful to remind yourself that one of the responsibilities that come with your job is that you are often called upon to serve or work with people who, for some reason, don’t like you.conflict_crop380w

Why does this keep surprising us!?

Remember, your job is not about you. Your company is paying you to perform a task, or manage a certain area of responsibility or produce a service and for the Christian it is about even more (see The Wacky World of a Truly Productive Christian).

So what to do?

Why do your job well; don’t take it personal that people don’t like you – it’s not like you’re going to have to adopt them and take them home. And another thing, don’t take the bait; you’re not getting paid to have a running feud with people. How other people handle themselves is a reflection on them; how you respond is a reflection on you: take the high road.
