Evening Meditation

The following quotation is one of my favorite:

  • “The difference between an ordinary Christian and a deeply committed one is that the ordinary Christian gets emotional, while the deeply committed Christian gets involved.” _K. G. McMillan

Earlier today Sonja and me in our “Sabbath ramblings” ran into an old friend.  This dear lady is a great prayer warrior who leads an intercessory prayer group in her church.  However, she said something today that stood out to me when she said, “You can’t pray your Bible open.”

In other words, as important as prayer is we must remember the purpose of prayer.  Prayer is offered in order move God’s heart and hand to take action.  It must be remembered, however, that the most common answer to prayer is that God’s heart and hand moves upon us so that we will take action.

It has often been said that, “Prayer changes things.”  The most common way prayer changes things is by moving upon us to start the change.

Bottom line, what is God challenging you to get involved in?
