“God’s Call on My Life” (Part 2)
One of the dangers of living in a country like the U.S.A. is that it inoculates us to the reality of “Kingdom living.”
If you ask the average US American where their allegiance lies as a citizen they will be hard pressed to answer. Their allegiance could be to the flag, the constitution, a vague “American spirit” or tradition. In reality, however, the danger is that our allegiance becomes focused on self-interest. Therefore, the reality is that when enough citizens with a common self-interest make a decision that determines where our allegiance lies. We call that the “majority” and the majority rules.
However, as Christians we are “Kingdom citizens”; to be more precise, we life in a theocracy. A patriot in a kingdom has no trouble identifying where their allegiance lies; a person is the focus of their allegiance.
Today’s affirmation addresses that concept…
SECOND: God’s Call on my life – I confess my absolute and complete allegiance to my Sovereign: Jesus Christ. Nothing or no one has a higher priority in my life than my LORD God revealed to me in Jesus by the Holy Spirit. It is in Him that I live and move and have my being and all other issues of life must submit to His authority – there is nothing or no one more important than Him.
Well said. The sociological pressures of the American spirit can, if allowed, strangle our Kingdom lungs and leave us gasping for the wind of the Spirit.

Well said – back to you. While Jesus loves all US Americans, we sometimes forget that He is not an American!
