110103: New Year’s Greeting!

Hello!  Remember me?

Well, it’s been awhile since I last made an entry on my blog but what with the New Year I thought it only appropriate to start the first full week off with a “Hello!” and a “Happy New Year!”.  It was great to be back in the pulpit yesterday.  I made my big announcement: I’m resigning from being grown up and am now entering my second childhood.   I’m liking it already:)

Just as a reminder I preached from Matthew 18:1-5 (NKJV)

  • 1 At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, “Who then is greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”
2 Then Jesus called a little child to Him, set him in the midst of them, 3 and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.
  • 4 Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
  • 5 Whoever receives one little child like this in My name receives Me.

Let me introduce you to the latest child in my life, my granddaughter: Miss Ella Grace! My love for her is just another reminder from our "Papa God" (Abba) of how much He loves us!

Remember a child:

  1. FIRST: A child does not have to impress – you are a part of the family because you are family not because you’ve impressed anybody.
  2. SECOND: A child does not have to be in control.
  3. THIRD: A child has fun and it doesn’t take much.
  4. FOURTH: A child trusts their parents/family to take care of them.

Why don’t you join me this year; let’s start acting like children!

Blessings all,

dlk

  1. What a precious grand daughter. We have a Grace too. {Gracie}. Sorry we couldn’t be there Sunday. We were re-cuperating from being with our grand children over the holidays and from the trip. I’m so glad to hear that you are in the pulpit again. We have missed you dearly. Can’t wait to see everyone Sunday.
