Good evening!
It has been a long but good day. I met with the CIA (Christians in Action) men’s group for breakfast. We had a special guest, Mr. Tom Audette, who is running for York County Council District #1 seat. Seemed to really be a nice guy / he’s got five daughters – how could he not be!
Following a great breakfast with a great bunch of men it was off to the other side of town for another breakfast with Pastor Wayne to discuss Missions. It was the first time that I had been able to sit down and speak with Pastor Wayne about the Panama since he’d gotten back / we can all really be proud.
Then it was a six meeting with Pastor’s Walters, Sawyer and Kemp (2.0). We are digging down on several strategic issues for the church. These are sharp men and it is a privilege to work with them.
Then it was home for the evening and an enjoyable evening with two couples from our last Firm Foundation class / Dave & Mary Jo Richmond and Mark & Melissa Whitfield. What a joy to have these two special couples in our home.
Now it is 9:45 p.m.ish and I’m thinking it is about time to hit the sack.
No “preaching” tonight. However, I do have one book recommendation: “Body by God” by Ben Lerner. If you are looking for a good book to cover the full scope of living healthily this book is a great choice. I finished it last night and found it a great read.
As you may know, I’m trying to recalibrate my life around the Seven Pillars for living a wise life:
- Health

I think this is how some people think of their pastor / kind of always in the background watching them / but I'm not - really! - Vocation
- Profession
- Financial
- Intellectual
- Recreational
- Spiritual
And the book, Body by God comes under the first category / I highly recommend it.
Tonight’s shout outs are:
- Thanks to Candy Nivens for helping me all day with my meetings! You’re the B-E-S-T.
- Thanks to Johnny Fuller for the Spice cake / it was a hit at the staff meeting today
- Thanks to Phyllis Childers for your pie (I think it’s called ‘Oh! Susannah Pie \ it’s Phyllis’ specialty and unbelievably good)
- Thanks to Vicky Frye for giving me the “Body by God” book
- Last but not least, thanks to my dearly loved wife, Sonja, who keep it all together today and tonight for me / we make a good team 🙂
Quote of the day:
“It is one of the paradoxes of success that the things and ways which got you there are seldom those things that keep you there.” _Charles Handy
Blessings to all,

Pastor – I enjoyed our conversation on Wednesday even though I failed the “interview” questions miserably! My mind just went blank…as you could tell!!!
Thanks for your leadership and counsel. You are a blessing.
Love you,
AK

Hey Alan! I also enjoyed our time together / I always feel that I am with a brother when I’m with you. Whatever the future holds for your life that will remain the case. Kindest regards, dlk
