100429: Wish You Were Here…

Good evening everyone,

Hope you had a good day.  I’ve had a good day but it’s ended a little sad / Sonja is in Six Mile tonight.  Her rotation has come back around to be with her mother who is recovering from a broken leg.  So Sonja being with her mother tonight is the right thing to do / but that doesn’t mean I have to like it!  Now you know who the “You” in “Wish You Were Here” is!  (Nothing personal if you thought it was you! :))

A real "St. Anne" - true!

This morning when reading the devotional that I prepared for us for this day I remembered something I wanted to write but just didn’t have the space.  I wrote about how Job was able to deal with his suffering and sorrow by asking questions of God.  What I thought about calling that devotional was: “Dare to Doubt.”  But I knew that expression could be misunderstood.  But I’m still convinced that one of the best things we can do in some circumstances is dare to doubt.

That doesn’t mean that we’ve lost our faith but it does mean that we are secure enough in God’s love and grace that we can ask questions.  Don’t believe something just because it’s always been that way.  Don’t believe what people have spoken into your life.  Don’t believe something just because an expert says it is true.  Dare to doubt!  Dare to doubt that you are defeated.  Dare to doubt that you are a failure.  Dare to doubt that you can’t make a comeback.  Dare to doubt that everything is bad.  Dare to doubt that doom, gloom and despair are the only option.  Dare to doubt that nobody loves you.  Well, you get the picture (I’m feeling the preacher a bit).

As far as life in Kempville…

David Lee is still feeling rough / please keep him in your prayers

I had a meeting with my lawyer today to discuss updating my will / sort of like going to the dentist / a necessary but sobering ordeal / but I’ve seen to many people postpone doing this only to have their procrastination cause a lot of trouble for the people they love / remember, living a wise life = being intentional / don’t leave your affairs for others to have to deal with / and my dear friend do not assume that you have plenty of time / seize the day!  Love intentionally, live intentionally, and you will leave behind a legacy that you will proud of.

1.0 and 3.0 are missing you tonight, my Dear

Well, it’s about time to turn in / it’s been a good day but a long one…

Good night,

dlk
