A Word from Campmeeting

Good evening everyone!

It’s about 10:30 p.m. and Sonja and I have only been back to our motel room for a short while.  We are attending our annual denominational state convention called “Campmeeting.”  In years gone by, people actually camped out on our campground and took a week’s vacation attending the special services that are provided each day.  Thankfully the accommodations are a little better now, but services still go late into the evening.

I wish all of you could have been at the service last night (Sunday, June 21, 2009).  Our choir and orchestra was part of a mass choir and they carried the night.  You would have been so proud of them.

I remember in years gone by greatly enjoying Campmeeting.  But in all honesty, Campmeeting only makes me miss the great services and people of our church.  Every time I attend a convention such as Sonja and I are attending this week, it reminds me of just how blessed we all are at FMCOG.  Whatever we do, I don’t want to lose the great spirit we have.

Well, enough of that.  I’ve got another long day at Campmeeting tomorrow.  So I’d better get to bed.  Still no word from “David Lee” just yet; we’re counting the hours now.  Who knows, maybe I’ll get the call tonight from Lee that he is taking Jennifer to the hospital.  Now that would be a late night call that I would not mind getting!

Blessing everyone…keep the faith,

david l. kemp
