The Central Thought: For most, “Being in the ministry” is not an individual calling, it is a family calling. In other words, God calls families into the ministry (the “sons of the prophets” principle).
The benefit of this is that when we see ministry as a family calling, we do not make our family or the church a competitor. We make our family a part of the calling that is on our lives together and the church is a part of our extended family.
The result is, we end up loving and serving both better.
