Don’t confuse loving the ministry with loving to minister.
There’s a hugeeeee gap between the two.
There’s nothing necessarily wrong with loving the ministry as in the same way someone loves any other profession or trade, but be sure that you understand that your love for being in the ministry is not the same as loving to minister.
There are many preachers who love to build sermons but have little passion for building people.
There are many worship leaders who love to make music and sing songs but they have little passion for making passionate and holy worshippers.
On the other hand, the person that simply loves to minister doesn’t require a special position, title, or the trappings of an office. They understand that ministering simply requires being willing to pick up a towel and basin and begin meeting needs.
- The ONE THING for today: Be a minister if you must, but don’t let it get in the way of your ministry.
John 13:3-5 (NKJV)
3 Jesus… 4 rose from supper and laid aside His garments, took a towel and girded Himself. 5 After that, He poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples’ feet, and to wipe them with the towel with which He was girded.
