Being in the know

in-the-dark

Genesis 1:2 (NKJV) …and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.

I hate being in the dark—I want to know.

I want to know that success is sure.

I want to know that things are going to turn out the way I planned for them to turn out.

I want to know the answer.

I want to know the outcome.

I want to…well…I just want to know.

I hate living in the dark.

But hard as I try, I know so very little.

Is that pain just due to something I ate or is it something to be concerned about?

Will the outcome be what was predicted?

Will my son, who will be deployed to Afghanistan in a few weeks, come home safe when his tour of duty there is over?

Will my grandchildren grow up in a country that at least resembles the country I grew up in?

As Sonja and I grow older will we be OK?

Have I planned and prepared wisely enough?

Will there be enough?

I want to know! I don’t like being in the dark about things that matter to me.

And I bet you do too.

  • The ONE THING for today: God knows and we know God and sometimes that has to be enough.

Isaiah 63:7 (NKJV)

I will mention the lovingkindnesses of the Lord And the praises of the Lord, According to all that the Lord has bestowed on us, And the great goodness toward the house of Israel, Which He has bestowed on them according to His mercies, According to the multitude of His lovingkindnesses.
