- “’Coincidences’ occur much more frequently when I pray.” _Archbishop William Temple
Take seriously your privilege to pray.
Don’t make prayer an event that you do each day, make it an all-day activity. Take your prayer journal with you and throughout the day make entries into it.
If God gives you an insight or revelation—write it down.
Make a list of the urgent issues and tasks you’re facing today—including them in your prayer journal. As they come up consult your prayer journal or as the Holy Spirit whispers something about one of them jot it down beside the entry.
Make a short list of people you are especially praying for today; throughout the day open your prayer journal and look at their names and truly remember them before God and whisper a prayer on their behalf.
You get the picture—if you breathe you pray; make it an all-day activity.
Before you check your emails and Facebook account, check your prayer journal.
Remember back when grandmother’s made fruitcake soaked in their special “tonic”? Those cakes had a punch that was far different from a regular fruitcake.
Forrest Gump said that life is like a box of cherries, maybe he was wrong. Maybe life is like a fruitcake; soak your day in prayer and the new wine of the Holy Spirit will put a punch in it that will make all the difference.
The ONE THING for today: Make prayer an all-day activity.
2 Timothy 1:3 (NKJV)
I thank God, whom I serve with a pure conscience, as my forefathers did, as without ceasing I remember you in my prayers night and day.
