The ONE THING for today

Not more men merely…

  • Luke 2:52 (NKJV) And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.

The following words from a sermon of A.J. Gordon (1836-1895) touched me today: “Not more men merely, but more man.”

Prayer: Oh God, I pray the readers of this devotional and myself will grow in character and wisdom today. Help us to be intentional; to be intentional about spending time with you—the source of all wisdom and help. Help us to be intentional about monitoring our deeds and our words.

Help us to place a higher value on giving you glory than on simply getting results.

Help us to be more like you and less like ourselves.

Bottom line…

Help us.
