- 1 Samuel 1:13 (NKJV) Now Hannah spoke in her heart; only her lips moved, but her voice was not heard.
The other night Sonja and I were enjoying dinner with some friends in a local restaurant. It had been awhile since we had eaten there and I had forgotten just how loud it was. The food was good and the company was great. But because of the noise level of all the other conversations going on around us I had trouble hearing what the people I truly wanted to listen to had to say.
All the conversations going on around us every day can be overwhelming. People talking, social media, emails, television, talk radio, podcast, music, CD’s…it just doesn’t stop.
Let me give you a quick reminder: don’t fail to take regular inventory of the conversations you are not hearing. What are the voices that are absent from your life? Don’t allow all the “noise” of life to drown out the conversations that you really should be having and in your saner moments really want to have.
