Imagine with me…

Yesterday we discussed the art of story-telling. Today I’d like to remind you that some of the best stories are “make-believe” stories. Now isn’t that an interesting term: make & believe.

Another way of saying this is, “Imagine with me”.

Get a group of people around a table and say, “Imagine with me…”, and watch time stand still. People will actually put their smart phones down and look you in the eye and listen to what you have to say. They’ll push their minds out beyond the now, the urgent and the kaleidoscopic eye-candy that is constantly being thrown at us and think, dream and hope.

Yes, there is something magical about the expression: “Imagine with me.” And something else I’ve learned, make-believe stories have a way of becoming true stories.

How long has it been since you’ve actually sat down yourself and imagined how your world and other’s could be better?

I’ll never forget the sign posted by a contractor in a yard in my neighborhood; it read, “If you can imagine it we can build it.” I’m planting that sign right in the middle of your circumstances today.
