The Zone…

Numbers 11:5-6 (NKJV) We remember the fish which we ate freely in Egypt, the cucumbers, the melons, the leeks, the onions, and the garlic; 6 but now our whole being is dried up; there is nothing at all except this manna before our eyes!”

Everyone likes to be in their comfort zone.

Why is this so hard to remember?

Remember that much of the kickback you will receive from people comes simply from the fact that people prefer to stay with what they’re comfortable with.

Take the children of Israel…

Throughout their journey through the wilderness they complained about how good it was back in Egypt (they preferred slavery with a steady supply of beans and fish than freedom and a steady supply of manna).

Then when it came time to enter into the promise land they resisted; they chose the desert (what they knew) rather than the uncertainty of facing giants in their God-promised new home.

Why is this so surprising? People prefer the familiar.

Remember that the next time you’re trying to bring about change for the better. It’s not going to be easy! Just ask Moses.

Moses would tell you: Don’t lose your cool like I did while you’re helping others arrive to their promised land and miss out on your own promise.
