- Psalm 119:59 (NLT) I pondered the direction of my life, and I turned to follow your laws.
There’s probably no one that enjoys good one-liners anymore than I do. A lot of wisdom can be captured in a few carefully crafted words. Take the following for example: “You’ve removed most of the road blocks to success when you know the difference between motion and direction.” _Bill Copeland
I whole-heartedly agree with this statement…in principle. However, don’t allow statements like this to put more of a burden on you than you should. The pivotal word here is “direction”.
Nobody likes results more than I do. I like to develop a plan and then work the plan and then have the results turn out just like the plan predicted. Unfortunately, life seldom works that way.
There are too many factors in life beyond your control to hope for hitting the bull’s eye every time. No one bats 1.000 and no one bowls a 300 game every time (most never).
There are no perfect parents, no perfect employees/bosses, no perfect plans, no perfect days and no perfect Christians.
But you can determine to go in the right direction.
As you start another week – full of busyness and motion – take a look at your life, if you’re heading in the right direction then be of good cheer and do your best to enjoy the ride in spite of the bumps and potholes.
Thank you so much. This is a wonderful way to look at your week when you know it is going to be a difficult one. I may need to learn the broad jump on some of the pot holes. 😀
Have a blessed week my brother,
Dan
