When You Disagree…

  • Philippians 3:15 (NLT) Let all who are spiritually mature agree on these things. If you disagree on some point, I believe God will make it plain to you.

Living up to the title of my morning blog I’d like to give you one thing that will really make a huge difference for you. Here it is: When faced with a disagreement, first seek to discover why there is a disagreement.

I know that sounds so obvious, but in reality it really isn’t.

The temptation is to immediately choose sides or to seek to convince the other person to come over to your way of thinking.

Remember, a disagreement does not have to be a call to arms. A disagreement does not mean that someone has to win and everyone else loses. A disagreement can be an opportunity.

A disagreement may mean that you haven’t done enough homework just yet. Often a disagreement is simply someone crying out to be heard.

When there is a disagreement: Stop, listen, learn, regroup and then head out as a better person and a more united team.

Consensus is better than conquest.
