A heartbeat or heartbeats…

  • 1 Samuel 1:20 (NKJV) So it came to pass in the process of time that Hannah conceived and bore a son, and called his name Samuel, saying, “Because I have asked for him from the Lord.”

Most of the time when we think of decisions we do so in terms of an event: “I made a decision.”

That’s like saying, “My heart beat.”

It’s good that your heart beat one time, but it is of immeasurably more importance that your heart is beating.  See your decisions in the same way.

A decision is not an isolated event.  Like your heart that continues to beat in order to send a continuous and uninterrupted flow of life-giving blood throughout your body, your most recent decision is part of a continuous and uninterrupted flow of decisions that is either pumping life or death into your future.

The good news is that you change your life one wise decision at a time.  Like a heart that is not performing well, a little exercise and a good diet can turn things around.

So your life is not what you want it to be today?  Do not allow all that you think needs to be done to overwhelm you.  Make one wise (healthy) decision at a time (starting now).  In the process of time, those continuous and uninterrupted healthy decisions will bring new life and new possibilities into your future.
