- Psalm 46:10 (NKJV) Be still, and know that I am God…
It has been said that as soon as you are complicated, you are ineffective. I thought about that the night Joyce Lang gave the devotional at the 40-days service. Her main thought was highlighting the importance of simply waiting on the Lord.
How many times do we complicate our prayer life by trying to remember special formulas and sayings, etc. when all the time all that is often required is to simply be still and be silent.
Remember, saying nothing can be prayer.
After almost 35 years of marriage I’ve come to understand how two people who know each other intimately can communicate a lot without ever saying a word.
Whatever you do, don’t complicate your prayer life by putting a lot of expectations on yourself. Just reverently sitting in God’s presence is often enough.
