With a Focus on 40-days of Prayer & Fasting… Day-24/40 (60% Complete)

  • Philippians 1:29 (NKJV) For to you it has been granted on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake.

How often do you pray for God to perform a miracle? Why do you do this?

Think about it this way: If you were the cook for your family and every time you prepared a meal the family joined hands to say the blessing over the meal and prayed that God would provide something entirely different from what you had prepared. How would you feel about that?

Let’s suppose that God truly is in control. Let’s suppose that God truly does have a plan for your life. Then that would mean at least that God is not taken by surprise by anything that happens in your life. Therefore, whatever you’re going through that you are asking God to change may be what He has cooked up for you.

Now I am not proposing that you should not pray for miracles, however, I am proposing that you should pray for something more than a miracle: pray for opportunities.

Pray for an opportunity to glorify God and be obedient to His plan for your life. Pray for an opportunity to demonstrate great trust as well as great faith.

Bottom line: beware of praying for quick fixes when God may have a great purpose behind the trouble that has come your way.
