- Genesis 29:20 (NKJV) So Jacob served seven years for Rachel, and they seemed only a few days to him because of the love he had for her.
Are you clear in your mind what it is you hope to achieve through this year’s 40-days of Prayer & Fasting?
It was Helen Keller who said, “What could be worse than being born without sight? Being born with sight and having no vision.”
Think of our 40-days as a recipe. See each day as a step required in pulling the recipe from the pages of a cookbook and onto the table as a delicious dish for an evening meal. Perhaps today is like the shifting the flour step in the recipe: you want to do it right, but the point of shifting the flour correctly is not for the sake of shifting flour, it’s for the sake of producing the desired outcome.
There is a world of difference between experiencing forty separate “1-days” of Prayer & Fasting and experiencing one 40-days of Prayer & Fasting. If God could help you to string together 40-days of Prayer & Fasting for one purpose – can you imagine the powerful impact that would be? Whatever it is you could imagine – that is vision; do you have one for this year’s 40-days?
Pastor, thank you for your blogs….this is the hardest fast I have ever done….wow….however, I am hearing the leading of the Holy Spirit more than I have ever heard.. sue
