With a Focus on 40-days of Prayer & Fasting… Day-16/40 (40% Complete)

  • Psalm 51:10 (NKJV) Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.

Here’s a 40-days irony for you: If you are not content with yourself where you are, you will not be content where you are going.

So often the temptation is to think of our season of prayer and fasting in terms of change.  We fast and pray because we are not satisfied with how our life is right now so we prayerfully and passionately seek God in order to get Him to make our future situation better.

The irony of this is that if we are not content with ourselves as we are now, then if God puts us in a new and better situation in the future we will bring our “old self” into it and be just as unhappy there.

Remember, the real issue of your 40-days of prayer and fasting (as far as your personal life is concerned) is not a new situation, but a new you.
