With a Focus on 40-days of Prayer & Fasting… Day-4/40 (10% Complete)

  • 2 Samuel 11:1 (NKJV) It happened in the spring of the year, at the time when kings go out to battle, that David sent Joab and his servants with him, and all Israel; and they destroyed the people of Ammon and besieged Rabbah.
  • But David remained at Jerusalem.

Remember, our 40-days season is a spiritual season.

I thought about this during my first fasted meal: the hunger was different. We’ve all had those moments when we stopped in mid-thought and realized that we were hungry. Working through lunch or getting up late and rushing out of the house to get to school or work is no big deal. But to intentionally fast a meal…now your body is not going to like that.

The hunger pains that come from skipping lunch is no big deal – you just grab a quick snack and keep going. But the hunger pains that come from fasting a meal are sacred; they have a purpose; they are spiritual. They are not satisfied with a snickers bar; they are only satisfied by feasting on spiritual things.

Whatever you do, do not underestimate the importance of this spiritual season. Like hunting season, there are certain issues in your life that will only be taken care of if they are addressed in the right season. Now is that season…be diligent and do not grow weary for in due season you shall reap if you faint not. (Galatians 6:9)
