- 1 Timothy 3:2-7 (NKJV) A bishop then must be…able to teach…
I’ve been thinking about this issue of teaching…
You do know that you are a teacher, don’t you?
If you never say a word or lock yourself up in your house and never come out, you’re still teaching people how you think life ought to be lived.
So the question is not: “Are you teaching?” The question is: “Are you able to teach?”
Being able to teach implies, first, that you know something worth teaching and second, that you care enough for others that you’re willing to get involved in their lives and third, that you have demonstrated a quality of excellence and character that causes them to want to listen to what you have to say.
So whatever you do, don’t miss those teachable moments today.
There will moments that the real issue is not getting a task done, but rather teaching someone how to get the task done.
For someone in your life, the issue will not just be getting through your day, but rather teaching them how to get through their day.
At the end of your life, what will be far more satisfying and rewarding will not be that you were a success, but that you taught many others how to be a success.
So…are you ready to teach?
