- 1 Timothy 3:2 (NKJV) A bishop then must be temperate…
The term “shock jock” is the opposite of temperate. A shock jock says and does outrageous things just to get attention, draw a crowd and make a fast buck or two.
A temperate person, on the other hand, is measured, balanced and responsible.
A temperate person does not have the luxury of fudging on the truth just to make a point. They do the research before making a statement.
A temperate person does not vent and explode. You do not have to “test the waters” before greeting them. They have passions and they have opinions, but they are not ruled by their passions and opinions. They are ruled by the mission of their lives: to honor the Father God and His Son and proclaim his message in word and deed wherever they go…that will be shocking enough.
