I’m big on affirmations – you are what you think and say.
One of my most often repeated affirmations is: (say it with me!) I shall serve the Lord with gladness.
This is a decision, a choice, a determination.
Circumstances, environment, weather, abundance or lack, sickness or health, with support or without support…none of these is a factor when you choose to serve the Lord with gladness.
Remember two days ago when I shared with you the powerful principle of changing your opinion? Well, if you will put that into practice with this affirmation it will change your life. Make the decision that whatever you do you will do it “as unto the Lord.” Choose to serve Him and choose to serve him gladly.
Washing feet, doing paper work, sweeping floods, changing dirty diapers, putting up with difficult people – all this can be done joyfully when done as a service unto God.
Furthermore, doing the fun things and the profitable things as unto the Lord will also help by keeping things in perspective. It will keep you from making success and stuff about you, it will keep you joyfully humble, it will keep you sanely grounded and whole.
Bottom line, serving the Lord with gladness is a choice that changes everything from the mundane to the extra-ordinary…no, better yet…to the supernatural.
So…repeat after me: “I will serve the Lord with gladness!”

- Deuteronomy 28:47 – 48 (NKJV) 47“Because you did not serve the Lord your God with joy and gladness of heart, for the abundance of everything, 48therefore you shall serve your enemies, whom the Lord will send against you, in hunger, in thirst, in nakedness, and in need of everything; and He will put a yoke of iron on your neck until He has destroyed you.
- 2 Chronicles 29:30 (NKJV) Moreover King Hezekiah and the leaders commanded the Levites to sing praise to the Lord with the words of David and of Asaph the seer. So they sang praises with gladness, and they bowed their heads and worshiped.
- Psalms 9:1 – 2 (NKJV) 1I will praise You, O Lord, with my whole heart; I will tell of all Your marvelous works. 2I will be glad and rejoice in You; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High.
- Psalms 4:7 (NKJV) You have put gladness (joy) in my heart, more than in the season that their grain and wine increased.
The ONE THING 
Good morning Pastor Kemp I do not know how to do the blogging thing even though I did try to go in and make a comment a few times but I want you to know in spite of that….I forward your post daily to a few folk’s and I forward them to even more folk’s in the trucking business. I am in contact with lot’s and lot’s of people and I try to share God’s word’s and I feel that I have a great testimoney for other’s. I try to do 2 things first in the mornings which are to open up a email devotion that I get from Charles Stanley and let this email be my first email of the day. Then I move on to my other 3 or 4 devotional things I am into. I am hungry for his word and you are sending it to me and I thank you for that. Charles Stanley message comes in at 3:am and right now in the month of November is harvest month over all the over 11 months, and I have to produce and it takes alot of work and I have to come in like 3am and 4am to do all the things I can that do not involve me being on the phone which is so much that I get tired of hearing my own voice. God has blessed me in my business and has me where I am today and able to run my business from a home office since the day 32 years ago that I started in the transportation Broker’s business slash…trucking business. He knew then where I would be from a health prespective, and I truly belive he knew this the very day I was introduced into this business which was a 6 month temp job at Stone Container Corp in Florence, SC. in the traffic department. I thank God for every load of freight I pray for all my drivers every day and I have never met any of these people for the most part and probably never will however I have log time relationships with most everyone I work with and alot that I will only ever load one time where others end up being regulars in what ever state and I have freight in those states they keep me aware of where they are going or where they need to get to. I do not know anyone ( drivers) personally,, hardly at all that I do business with and most all are telephone contact’s and relationships. What I am saying in a nut shell here as I wander….I so much look forward to your post of any kind and I read them, I dwell on them, I forward them to others, and I print and save the majorty of them. I have made copies to hand to my 2 boy’s ( men 31 & 32 year’s old) but still my 2 babies ys know and have mailed and or faxed or emailed to others so you post are being spread around by me behind the grand schmes of things. I belive that the reason I stay under constant attacts from the devil is because in my heart and in my eye’s I have a Very Close relationship with the Lord. What I am saying is THANK YOU and through your post I am able to help others and have my prayers be answered and God sending me his message through your post speaking to me. Call me crazy but it is what it is. You are always pretty much to the point of what you are trying to say but some stand out louder than others and this week so far they been hittin home. The devil not only has tried to destroy me in my health but he has also in my work knowing that I am the bread winner for the most part but trust me Leon is a hard worker and has put in a many of hours of work just as I have. I am pretty certain that I have been under very very heavy attacks by satan because I live a life of beating him down. I have and do daily ask God that if I speak to anyone on the phone that needs a word from him for him to put those words in my mouth so I could say what he needed said. I also let them know that I pray for them their famalies and their equipment and that if anyone I speak with (which is a whole lot of people about 250 to 300 calls a day) in Novemember BY MYSELF, so I pray that if anyone needs to know about him God for him to put someone in their path in their lives. I preach the word everyday in my home and family life. I see God in everything, I have prayer list with a few truckers etc etc…I share your post which are of God and the wisdom you are trying to teach us, so regardless if I am present or not….I still get your word and wanted you to know that and that I shre them.
