- 2 Corinthians 7:10 (NKJV) For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death.
Regrets are so regrettable.
What if you made it your goal today to do everything within your power to have no regrets?
It’s the mindset that says, “I may strike out, but I will at least go down swinging.” (How regrettable to be called out on strikes with the bat still on your shoulder.)
It’s the mindset that says, “I may not get everything done, but I will get the important things done.”
It’s the mindset that says, “I may not make everyone happy, but I will be able to face them in eternity and not be accused of being mean-spirited and crooked.
Basically, we live in one of two time zones: God’s time or Man’s time.
Man’s time is spent handling emergencies, trying to “keep up with the Joneses”, and getting from point A to point B as fast as possible. In other words, living a regret-full life means focusing on what is urgent now.
God’s time is spent focusing on eternal things: lasting relationships (take them to Heaven with you), building for eternity (will I be proud of this later), fulfilling God’s plan for your life (leaving a worthy legacy), and being prepared to face God (Hearing, “Well done”).
Man’s time = regrets
God’s time = no regrets
Which will it be?
