- 1 Corinthians 1:16 (NKJV) Yes, I also baptized the household of Stephanas. Besides, I do not know whether I baptized any other.
I smile every time I read this verse. Even the great Apostle Paul had memory lapses. And just his luck, he had to write part of the Bible before “white out” or cheap paper or word processors and so his struggles with memory are recorded for all time and eternity.
Hey, remember the most godly, astute and respected Christian you know is still only human. Perhaps you’ve been let down by someone you thought was a “got-it-together” Christian. Why not give a little mercy and chalk it off as a good person who meant well but had a bad memory.
Hey, why not do the same for yourself. Admit your mistakes, correct them best you can and then move on.
Life is too short for us to beat each other up for simply being what we are: imperfect humans very much in need of a perfect savior and a little understand from our fellow imperfect comrades.
“As I know more of mankind I expect less of them, and am ready now to call a man a good man upon easier terms than I was formerly.” _Dr. Samuel Johnson, 1709-1784
