  • “Freed in Christ does not mean we have the right to do anything we want. Rather it means we have the power to do everything we ought.” _David Jeremiah – Turning PointsMoments of Decision in the Presence of God

There are two things that mean a lot to me as it relates to FMCOG:

  • First, that we truly are a church where people matter
  • Second that we are church that is truly committed to being Pentecostal

The fact that we are a church where people matters means that “grace” is a major part of our culture.  To take it another step then, when grace permeates a culture freedom is the result.  However, as I wrote in my blog today, if we love Jesus we will obey him.  In other words, as David Jeremiah wrote: “Freed in Christ does not mean we have the right to do anything we want.  Rather it means we have the power to do everything we ought.”

And that is where Pentecost comes in – providing the power to do as we ought.  The theme for this month as been AWAKEN: Preparing for Revival.  Well, we are hours away from our month-end revival; tonight wraps up our last AWAKEN Prayer Service & Communion.  I encourage you to make a final push and join me at the church this evening at 6:00 p.m.  Let’s finish strong.  And if by chance you can’t make it, please at least take the time to get on your knees (figuratively or literally) and spend a few moments in prayer, preparing yourself for next week’s revival.

The stakes are high, the time is short and the potential returns are unbelievably great; let’s AWAKEN!

I close by sending my love, best wishes and deepest gratitude for having the opportunity to serve the finest people in all the world.

Blessings,

dlkemp
