- John 11:28-29 (NKJV) And when she had said these things, she went her way and secretly called Mary her sister, saying, “The Teacher has come and is calling for you.” 29 As soon as she heard that, she arose quickly and came to Him.
The Christian religion has creeds and codes of conduct. The Christian religion has rituals. The Christian religion has followers, some of them “follow” very well and others…not so well. However, one must never confuse the creeds, codes of conduct, rituals, and followers (“Christians”) with the Christian religion.
The Christian religion can be summed up with these words: Jesus has come and is calling for you.
Bottom line, the Christian religion is about a living divine Person in whom you have a personal relationship. This person is Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Until you get there, all you have is a dry, dusty husk of a religion that gives you no real joy and fulfillment.
And by the way, the only appropriate response to this living Person is to “arise quickly and come to Him.”
If you do not have a regular place and a regular time to pray you do not have a prayer life.
