Today’s ONE THING: When You Don’t Know

  • John 4:10 Jesus answered and said to her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.”

“If you knew…”

Those words bring back a lot of sad memories.  I cannot recount the times that I heard someone say, “If only I had known…”  But they didn’t know and that’s the point.

The sad thing about not knowing things is most often we don’t know that we don’t know.  In other words, there are things out there happening right now that will affect us and we don’t even know about it.

There is no use beating ourselves up about not knowing something.  However, there is something we can do going forward and that is make sure that we spend time with Jesus each day – for He does know all things.  I can’t stress the importance of this.  Whatever you do, don’t allow the busy pace of life to rob you of your time with God.

Regrets are a heavy burden to carry; the greatest regret is knowing that if you had spent more time with God you would have been forewarned would have spared yourself and those you love so much sorrow and tragedy.

Don’t know?  Go to the source of all knowledge and truth…you’ll be ever so glad you did.
