Today’s ONE THING: The No-spin Zone

John 3:32 And what He has seen and heard, that He testifies

I suspect that you are busy.  You’re taking a moment’s break to read this blog and then you have to dive back into what you’ve been doing.  So, what can today’s verse say to a busy – and probably stressed – person?

Remember, in the passage of which this verse is a part, the Apostle John is contrasting Jesus (who is from Heaven) with John the Baptist (who is “earthy”, i.e. from earth).

In today’s verse, John described the reliability of Jesus’ message.  There is no record of Jesus ever having a “brainstorming session” where he and the disciples tried to come up with the best strategy for saving the world.

Jesus was not a scientist who had a “working hypothesis” (he never applied for a research grant).

Jesus never guessed or speculated.

What I’m trying to say is that with all the uncertainty in your life today there are two certain things – Jesus and his message.

Your company stock changes value every day.  The value of the dollar in your wallet fluctuates daily.  Our national security is in a constant state of uncertainty.  Trying to figure out how to deal with people is a moving target.  The drama of human experience is ever-changing.

How is a man or woman to survive?  Answer: Keep the words of Jesus ever before you; in them (and Him!), you will find hope, help and absolute and unchanging reliability.

Not your dog!  Your Bible is your best friend.  Keep it close; it really is a n0-spin zone.
